New Location

In November 2011, we moved to Samoeng which can be reached in a few hours from Chiang Mai. We previously lived in Samoeng but moved away for a few years and developed a place in Doi Saket closer to Chiang Mai. Now we are back in Samoeng and need help here! In the past few months we have had to clear back many weeds and start repairs on the mud buildings and huts on the property and start to planting again.

Now is a good opportunity to come and help on the farm, to help repair the buildings, make new places to stay, prepare garden beds and plant vegetables to eat.

In Samoeng the farm is near a small village, that is an easy walk away. It is a wonderful way to interact with local Thai farmers, and experience the true way of life for so many people in Thailand- woking on a farm and interacting in the village.

All of Pi Nan's family live in the village and will always make you feel welcome- with a smile, some food or whatever you may need!

Come and join us in Samoeng and help out to develop Mindful Farm!

HOME

EVERYONE ON THIS PLANET NEEDS A HOME,
EVEN BIRDS, RATS AND INSECTS NEED A NEST.
WE ALL NEED A HOME TO LIVE,
SO WE HELP EACH OTHER TO BUILD OUR HOME IN THE VALLEY.
WE MAKE MUD HOUSES, AND PLANT FRUIT, FLOWERS AND VEGETABLES.
WHEN EVENING COMES WE SIT IN FRONT OF THE KITCHEN ENJOYING OUR FOOD TOGETHER.
EVEN IF ONLY A MODEST HOME, IT FEELS PEACEFUL AND FREE.
MY DEAR BROTHERS AND SISTERS,
TODAY YOU MAY WANDER ANYWHERE ON EARTH, SO FAR AWAY FROM HOME.

PLEASE REMEMBER YOUR BROTHER MONK IS AT HOME,
TAKING CARE OF ALL THE PLANTS IN THE GARDEN.
AND BROTHER IS ALWAYS WAITING FOR EVERYONE TO RETURN HOME,
HOPES ALL OF YOU WILL RETURN HOME SOMEDAY,
TO OUR LITTLE HOME IN THIS PEACEFUL VALLEY,
TO LISTEN TO THE SOUNDS OF FROGS, AND WATER RUSHING,
AND SMELL SOME GOOD COOKING FROM OUR KITCHEN.

VOLUNTEER

Working in an organic farm, building a mud house, cooking Thai vegetarian food, leaning Thai, meditation and Buddhism.
Let’s learn a simple way of living together! In November we moved from our farm in Doi Sakhet, north of Chiang Mai city to Samoeng which is also easily reached from Chiang Mai. The road to the farm passes a very scenic route via Mae Sa (it takes a few hours by public transport to get to the farm from Chiang Mai).

We have rooms and food for volunteers. You can help us for various projects in our farm, and stay for a day, a week, a month and more. We cook and eat together like brothers and sisters in a family.
We are a couple searching for a better life. We have an open mind, like to meet new friends and share experiences. We hope to see you in this peaceful valley.

*******************************************************************************************

About what we have been doing: we have been building wooden huts for our team’s own accommodation. We use also other materials as bamboo and mud. Everything is taken from the surrounding Nature.

We have been planting many kinds of vegetables and fruit trees, too. The aim basically is to produce enough for our daily food, and in a near future, to sell the products in the market.

Apart from the above mentioned activities, we practice yoga and meditation, learning every day how to quiet our minds and live a calm and healthy life.

We welcome all energetic younger people (under 35 years)  to join us working on the farm. Accomodation is very basic and still unfinished, similar to camping, a few small open mud huts - no personal guesthouses, while older people are welcome to stay, they may not find accomodation & sleeping comfortable. If you have a tent and/or sleeping bag, please bring.

The farmstay will cost 150 bahts/per day and per person, which will be to cover the food costs. We are just in the beginning of the project and many things must be still purchased out of the farm.

In exchange of your help in the farm, we will teach you some farming methods, building natural huts, Buddhist teachings, meditation steps… we will learn all together how to live a simple and mindful life in the farm, close to our Mother Earth. We will also provide the accommodation for our guests, which will be some of the already built huts, that are spread through our lands.

For the volunteers that would like to stay for more than two weeks, there would be no charges after that period of time, food and lodging would be in exchange of their help and work. This also regards to old students, which will be very welcome back to the farm whenever they feel like and have contacted us previously. They can stay here any time without costs.

We want you to feel yourself as if you were at your second home, we would like to be your second family in Thailand.
